  • Structural design management of the new base isolated Spark data centre facility in Takanini – Completed in 2014
  • Design management of the new 60m long span pedestrian/cycle bridge in Panmure Basin – Design in progress
  • Acting as Expert Witness for NZ High Court in resolving disputes related to residential earthquake recovery in Canterbury
  • Publishing three national conference papers between 2011 and 2015

Why you followed this career path?

I enjoy contributing to the built environment as that is what shapes our everyday lives and societies. I also enjoy the tangible aspect of Structural Engineering. It feels great to see and in some instances, use what I have designed or have been part of its design and construction

Your interests outside of work?

  • I have been an avid volleyball player for years. Currently, I am trying to get back into more serious training and playing after battling injuries for the past couple of years.
  • I love travelling and experiencing new cultures, food, histories, …
  • I enjoy cooking and eating good food
  • Time permitting, I would like to be active in social and educational charities

What or who motivates you?

Interesting challenges and openness to trying new ideas. I find myself much more motivated to help clients who appreciate and seek innovation in their projects
